CTI, Huawei launch WLL terminals manufacturing

Islamabad- Carrier Telephone Industry (CTI) in collaboration with Huawei Technologies Chinese firm has launched on Thursday WLL terminals manufacturing in the capital’s industrial area.

To start with, the CTI factory would produce 300,000 sets annually with initial investment of Rs 120 million. Basically, the technology part of the manufacturing is to contribute by the Chinese firm in the first-ever local manufacturing of terminals in the country.

To begin the WLL terminal manufacturing has hired 100; later on it would require additional skilled personnel. Already working at the project has got training in China. The launch of local production of WLL terminals is expected to bring down the prices to at least 25 per cent.

Muhammad Afzal Sheikh Managing Director CTI and Weing We Jan Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Pakistan spoke on the occasion. They highlighted the importance of this collaboration between the two friendly countries that would create employment opportunities besides transfer of technology.
