The department of Computer System Engineering, NWFP University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar in collaboration with CDMA HR Development Centre, Iqra University, Islamabad Campus and Pakistan CDMA Forum, Islamabad organized a three-day workshop on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) Technology.
Dr Syed Ismail Shah, Founder Member Pakistan CDMA Forum and Head of Department CS, Iqra University, Islamabad was the key speaker.
Addressing on the occasion, he said that the world was demanding more from wireless communication technologies than ever before as more people around the world were subscribing to wireless applications.
For development of efficient communication systems, he said, effective utilization of communication resources (time and bandwidth) among the system users plays a significant role. Communication resources can be effectively shared using different multiple access techniques but CDMA 2000 is one of the standards that have been adopted for 3G cellular wireless communications and is successfully working nowadays, the speaker went on to say.
Vice Chancellor NWFP UET Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani appreciated the University for arranging the seminar and urged the need for having close linkage with the industry so that academicians and experts could work together in the particular field.
Later, he distributed certificates among the participants. Dean Faculty of Engineering Dr M Mansoor Khan and other senior faculty members were also present on the occasion
